Christianne Meneses Jacobs, an educator of children and adolescents, is passionate about preparing her students and her young adult daughters for career success. Her experience teaching “Career and Life Links” classes propelled her to write Professional Life Skills for Young Adults: 7 Keys to Empower Career Readiness.
Christianne holds a master's degree in education with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction from Chapman University School of Education and a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University. She has credential certifications in teaching bilingual education, early childhood education, and Spanish as a foreign language, and is a certified reading specialist.
In addition to working in the classroom for 25 years, Christianne is dedicated to all avenues of education. She is the founding editor of Iguana, the Spanish magazine for children, which she published for 10 years. For her commitment to childhood literacy, she received the 2005 Anna María Arias Memorial Award; the 2008 Latino Future Magazine Award; and, the 2009 Children's Publication Award from the National Association of Multicultural Education. She has been featured in the books Successful Americans of Central American Heritage and Biography Today.
As a native of Nicaragua, Christianne is very proud of her culture and heritage. She is the president of NicaGal Media and the producer and host of the podcast Latino Book Chat where she has conversations with Latinx writers and illustrators. Episodes are available at LatinoBookChat.com. Christianne has also written a collection of Spanish and bilingual books for children. She and her family live in Scottsdale, Arizona.
